Establishment Branch

This branch mainly deals in posting and transfers of the staff of D.C.'s Office. It maintains service record of Officials and prepares bills for salary/increments/TA/Medical allowances. It also deals with disciplinary cases against employees.

Miscellaneous Branch

This branch deals with Law and Order, visits of VIPs cases under Cinematograph character antecedents of newly entrant in service, training of officers and misc; matters .

Complaint & Enquiry Branch

This branch deals with the complaints and redressal of public grievances.

Nazarat Branch

This branch deals with disbursement of salary to staff and making other payments on account of contingency expenditures & arrangements of meetings of DC & Minister/DC Rate Fixture /Auditing of Tea Stall/Cycle Stand / Photostat Shop etc.

Record Keeper English

Diary and dispatch work. Maintenance of Library/Notification English/Character Verification/ New Stationary.

Small Savings

This work deals with appointment of Small savings agents and work for promotion of Small Savings.

Licensing Branch

This branch deals with grant of arms licenses in district and other matters relating to verification of Petrol Pump/Explosive.

 

Sub-Divisional Offices

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate is responsible for maintenance of law and order in the Sub- Division. Having powers of Executive Magistrate as well as Collector/Astt. Collector Ist Grade. Deals with registration of vehicles/renewal of arms licenses/issue of driving licenses/ permission for loudspeakers and hearing of revenue cases tribal by Astt. Collector Ist Grade and Collector are done in the office of Sub-Divisional officers (Civil) in the District.

Vernacular Record Room

The Judicial and revenue record of cases decided by revenue/Executive Courts is maintained by Assistant of this branch who is incharge of Record Room. Record of about 200 years is lying safe in the record room.

Copying Branch

This branch supplies certified copies of Judgements and other documents to the public on demand.

District Revenue Branch

Recovery of dues of various kinds.
Disposal of Nazul lands.

Sadar Kanungo Branch

Maintenance of revenue records.

Registration Branch

Control over Sub Registrars.

Agrarian Branch

This branch deals with the allotment of surplus land of the landlords under the Haryana Ceiling on Land Holdings Act.

Flood Relief Branch

This branch deals with the work and measures relating to prevention of floods & also natural calamities like earth quakes & droughts and its relief measures. Flood control order is issued every year by the Dy.Commissioner, Sonepat.

Loans Branch

This branch deals with grant of housing loans under LIGH and MIGH scheme. N.E.A.

Rehabilitation Branch

This branch maintains record of rehabilitation (custodian lands) and its disposal.

 

District Development and Panchayat Officer

Panchayat Branch

This Branch deals with the control over BDPOs and working of Panchayats in the district.

Development Branch

This branch deals with release of discretionary grants for development works in villages and control over BDPOs.

 

Working of Tehsil/Sub -Tehsil Offices

Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars are revenue officers. Their main duty is to make recovery of dues under land revenue Act and other Acts entrusted to them by collector of district. They are also responsible for the preparation of revenue records of lands and furher updating of the same from time to time. They also enjoy powers of executive magistrate and Astt. Collector II / Grade to deal with emergent situation of law and order, and to hear and decide cases relating to partition and correction of khasra girdawari of land and suits relating to recovery of batai. The record is updated by way of girdawari, mutations and preparation of Jamabandis. Tehsils are further divided into Kanungo circles and Patwar circles. Certificates of SC/BC/OBC/R.C. Working as Registrar of Marriage also.
